Christine Filla

STEM to STREAM Consultant

Christine is the founder of STEM to STREAM Consulting LLC, where she blends safety expertise, hands‑on learning, and inclusive program design to expand access to high‑quality STEM experiences for children, families, and community organizations. With an associate’s degree in accounting and business management, she has built a multifaceted career that unites technical training, youth development, and community‑centered STEM education.

Christine is a certified respirator training professional; a National Safety Council Instructor in Adult and Pediatric CPR/First Aid/AED, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Defensive Driving, helping new drivers build confidence and safety awareness. She also instructs a Missouri Permit Prep Class. In addition, she serves as an Instructor and Proctor for ServSafe (Food Safety). She is also a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Trainer, bringing real‑world emergency readiness into the learning environments she supports.

Through STEM to STREAM Consulting, Christine designs and facilitates STEM Fairs, school and community STEM events, and daycare, after-school, and summer STEM programs that introduce students to engineering, creativity, and problem‑solving through accessible, hands‑on activities. Her programs emphasize inclusion, curiosity, and confidence‑building—core values that guide the STEM to STREAM brand.

Christine also serves as a member and a COLA STEM Initiative Co‑Chair for Circle of Light Associates, a nonprofit organization in the Baden area of St. Louis, Missouri. In this role, she helps combat learning gaps in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math by developing engaging, culturally responsive STEM opportunities for underserved youth.

Her commitment to STEM education extends into her long-standing involvement with FIRST®, a 501(c)(3) not‑for‑profit organization that inspires young people to pursue STEM pathways. Christine has trained and mentored students in safety for FIRST® Robotics Competition Team #1985, the Hazelwood Central Robohawks, and coached Jr. FIRST® LEGO® League (now FIRST® LEGO® League Explore) Team #447, The Metalhead Monsters.

She championed youth innovation as the coach of multiple FIRST® LEGO® League teams, including Team #1625 (Cool Orange LEGO Athletes), Team #3384 (Cool Orange LEGO Athletes JV), and an in-house program “COLA Prep for ages 4–7.” Her coaching approach blends creativity, teamwork, and real‑world engineering challenges—empowering students to think boldly, collaborate effectively, and celebrate their growth.

Across every program, workshop, and partnership, Christine’s mission remains the same: to make STEM accessible, joyful, and transformative for every learner.
